Juniors vs Twickenham Brunswick TTC – June 9th 2018

Ashford juniors played their latest match with local rivals Twickenham Brunswick on June 9th, with a new generation of players from TW2 taking part.

5 of the Twickenham Brunswick players were under 11 – and 4 of these are competing in the National Under 11 finals later this month!

Both sides had 10 players so we had two pools: A & B from each side and C & D teams.

The most competitive match was Ashford D vs Twickenham C that finished in a 3-3 draw.

Also close was Ashford C vs Twickenham C with 5 four or five setters and finishing 6-3 to the home side.

In the other matches the greater experience of Ashford allowed them to overcome some spirited play by their younger opponents.

  • Ashford A beat Twickenham A 9-0 and Twickenham B 6-0
  • Ashford B beat Twickenham A 5-1 and Twickenham B 4-1
  • Ashford C beat Twickenham C 6-3 and Twickenham D 9-0
  • Ashford D drew with Twickenham C 3-3 and beat Twickenham D 6-0

The overall score was Ashford 48-8 Twickenham Brunswick.
