Ashford Table Tennis Club wishes to encourage its members to continually improve as Table Tennis players. As part of a program of doing this, we are introducing a new qualification criteria which British League Team Captains will look to adhere to when principally selecting players to play in their respective B/L Teams.

The forthcoming Ashford Club Tournament taking place on 19th & 20th April will form the minimum qualification criteria to be a selectable British League player for Ashford.

Players with a performance average within the local leagues which the club participates will also qualify for selection.

Team captains will be able to select their squad of players based upon the B/L Division they are participating in and each players percentage ranking in the local leagues or performance at the Ashford Tournament.

This initiative has been put in place to help the members who actively play competitively at Ashford to be involved within our National League teams.

The club supports all our teams entered in to the British League and we wish them all to do well regardless of which division they are participating.

In special circumstances, the club committee will sanction case by case the recruitment of players whom do not meet the minimum qualifying requirement.

The committee will weigh up the:

• The player requested by the team captain

• Standard of the British league division which the team participates

• Proposed players ability

• Players relationship with Ashford (length of membership, previous B/L appearances)

These criteria are balanced up against.

• Members who are available for selection

• The opportunity to fast track younger club players in to B/L

The committee will always support the qualified Ashford Member whose desire & ability of play can warrant the respected B/L standard of play.
