2017-18 Junior British League R1 Results

Junior British League is the largest UK junior (U18’s) league tournament and is played across four days/two weekends (23/24 Sep 2017 & 10/11 Feb 2018).

This competition showcases some of the finest junior talent Britain has to offer in a competitive team competition format.

There are separate Boys and Girls divisions which are all umpired by Table Tennis England qualified umpires.

The team “Ashford Brunswick” is a joint venture between ATTC and Twickenham Brunswick.

A new look team this year in the boys saw George Long joined by Carl Breindel and Joshua Amanor. Joe Kaye missed the weekend due to injury.

The step up from Division 3A last time out proved to be a challenge for the team winning just 1 of their 5 matches.

Individual win percentages were: Carl 50%, George 40% and Joshua 10%.

The girls team was unchanged from last year with Medha Verma, Federica Bonato and Alice Hazell.

Competition was tight at the top of the table with 2 points separating the top 3.

A narrow 2-4 defeat to leaders Ulster and a 3-3 draw with second place Fusion sets things up for an interesting second weekend in February.

All three girls finished the weekend with a 60% win ratio.
